Welcome to Morpeth School

 MIK5262

We are a community:

  • committed to learning and achievement
  • based on friendship and respect
  • where everyone is valued

Morpeth is a mixed school for pupils aged 11 to 18 in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets.

We are a school that reflects our community. We value diversity and strive to ensure we are inclusive in all we do. We see the positive relationships between different groups of pupils, and between pupils and staff, as a strength of the school. We also believe that it is those strong relationships that lead to great learning. By getting to know children as individuals, we can better support them.

We have a broad and ambitious curriculum for all our pupils in every year group. Our unique KS4 curriculum model means that pupils continue to have a flexible, rich and rigorous offer with almost all pupils studying a language and humanities subject in addition to the core, but with no sacrifice to our wider offer. Pupils can choose six options across Years 9, 10 and 11 from a choice of over 25 subjects. Our exam results at GCSE continue to be above the national average and Morpeth Sixth Formers progress to top universities. You can find further information about our pupils’ success in our Exam Results and Sixth Form Destinations sections.

However, learning at Morpeth is about much more than the subjects we teach. We explicitly promote respect, responsibility and ‘Morpeth values’ in all that we do. We expect our pupils to actively participate in our extensive extra-curricular offer and to be engaged in wider community and global issues. Our pupils and staff work in close partnership with parents, local charities, businesses, universities and other schools.

We believe our success is built upon the professionalism and commitment of all our staff – teaching and support - and a shared set of values.

We have benefitted from huge investment to our buildings and landscaping, such that our pupils benefit from an inspiring environment. We are therefore hugely proud of our school community and are always willing to provide families and visitors with any further information they need.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries.
